Toms River & Central Jersey Shore Macaroni Kid have teamed up with County Council for Young Children of Monmouth and Ocean County as well as Ocean County YMCA to collect back to school supplies for local families in need. With families struggling financially and local schools facing drastic budget cuts, throwing an extra box of crayons and glue sticks in your cart when you are shopping is an easy way to give back. We can all help to make school a better place for both students and teachers simply by assisting with school supplies.
 | Last year, with support from their community, CCYC distributed backpacks and supplies to over 120 children in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Some of our local communities that received supplies were Seaside Heights, Brick, Toms River. The Y Kids program at the Ocean County YMCA also distributed donated supplies to many of the schools they work with. At Toms River and Central Jersey Shore Macaroni Kid we are honored to partner up with these two great organizations to widen the efforts to start the school year off right for students and their families. Together this year, we hope to be able to provide supplies for even more students. |
Donations can be dropped off at any of the following locations from now until August 27:
- VNA Office: 1433 Hooper Avenue, Suite 230 Toms River
- Ocean County YMCA: 1088 W. Whitty Road, Toms River
- Superior Fitness: 1490 Route 37 East, Toms River (El Gee Plaza)
- Tiger Schulmann's Martial Arts: 905 Route 70, Brick
- Bee You Kids Yoga: 74 Main Street, Manasquan
- Little Dreamers Play Cafe: 2153 Route 35 South, Sea Girt
Toms River Macaroni Kid will also be collecting donations at our Back to School Bash Saturday, August 25 from 11AM - 1PM at the Ocean County Mall. Toms River Macaroni Kid will be donating 50 backpacks ready to be filled with supplies. We are asking all families attending to bring a supply to donate - every box of crayons and pencils makes a difference. Drop off your school supply at either the Toms River or Central Jersey Shore Macaroni Kid table and let the kids spin our prize wheel. Once the supplies have been collected, volunteers from County Council for Children of Monmouth & Ocean County and Ocean County YMCA will stuff the backpacks and distribute them to local families. Together, we can send these students off to their first day of school ready for success.
