Bob's Red Mill

Oatmeal and Protein Product Review

By Toms River Macaroni Kid August 25, 2016
Bob's Red Mill begins with a story much like your own family's. Bob and his wife Charlee wanted healthier choices for their family, choices that were not available in the early 1960's. So what do you do, Moms? How many of you have made your own organic baby food? You used only the best ingredients you could find, right? Well that's exactly what Bob and Charlee did. They created foods using the best grains and the best techniques. And the quality shows!

Toms River Macaroni Kid was given the opportunity to sample a few products from Bob's Red Mill. I had tried a bunch of their products before but these were both new to me!

Bob's Red Mill Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

We are big oatmeal fans in this house, usually of the instant variety that turns into mush but it's quick and the kids can prepare it themselves. I have to tell you, they can make this oatmeal themselves and it is FAR superior to any other brand out there. There was big chunks of apple and just the right amount of cinnamon, not making it overly sweet. The oats were big and held their shape. It was a decent size serving too! Sometimes those packets of oatmeal leave you wanting a bit more, but Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal Cups kept me content until much later in the afternoon.

Check out the ingredients! Can't beat that!

Bob's Red Mill Vanilla Protein Powder

Protein Powders are all the rage right now. I've tried so many, I can't even tell you. Some are good, some are REALLY bad. Bob's Red Mill Vanilla Protein Powder was honestly great! It wasn't gritty, didn't leave that chalky taste in your mouth. And the nutritional values far surpass many other powders on the market. I prepared mine with unsweetened almond milk and used it as a meal replacement. Next time I'll throw in some fruit and ice, make it a bit heavier. This may be my new go to powder!

I did receive product in exchange for this review, though the views are my own.
